Dried meat with spiced barley meal Yeqwant’a Chi’kko is ch’ikko mixed with dried meat. It is served for snacks or because appetizers.

Bits and Pieces:
medium cooking pan
covered container

Elements:
1 Ib. barley flour
2 cups dried meat (qwanta)
1 tsp. red pepper (berbere)
1 tsp. ginger (powder)
½ tsp. cardamom
¼ tsp. black cumin
3 cups butter
to taste salt

How to cook Dried meat with spiced barley meal – Yeqwant’a chi’kko
Melt the butter and add the whole thing of the spices. Pound dried meat into fine powder and sift. Add red pepper to the powdered meat. Make a paste by way of the mixing the barley flour with the melted butter and dried meat mixture. Mix thoroughly and ordered aside to cool. When cool and dry , lessen into small one inch squares and serve. Store covered in cool place. Makes 6-8 servings.
